You must ensure that your hair is in reasonably good condition before going for this treatment. To be safe, you should consider a strand test before starting. Japanese hair straightening can be performed on coloured hair (permanent or semi-permanent), providing it has been at least two weeks since you had your hair coloured. You should wait at least two weeks after having Japanese hair straightening treatment before having your hair coloured again. In the case of highlighted or bleached hair, it really depends upon the quantity of hair that's bleached, and when it was last done. If you have full head bleach you should not have Japanese hair straightening treatment.

The Japanese hair straightening (Yuko) process can take anywhere between 3-5 hours depending on hair length and type.
