All Hair Straighteners Are Not The Same
There are loads of different hair straighteners out there, ranging greatly in price and all claim to work wonders. Well there's only one way to see if they work for you and that's to try them out. Below are just a few that we have tried and like.
![]() | GHD are probably the most expensive hair straighteners I tried. Very well made as you would expect for just over $200! The model I tried was the Ghd Salon Hair Straighteners & Styler Large. They have much wider ceramic plates which make them perfect for thicker hair, and Afro-Carribean hair. They also have ceramic heaters the same size as the plates and this ensures an even temperature. Overall an excellent product, but not good value for money at $200. |
![]() | Babyliss is a brand also well known throughout the hair care world. I tried out the BaByliss 2085U Pro 230°C Straighteners an was very impressed considering they were a fraction of the cost of the GHD's (I paid around $80). They have longer plates and heat up in under 30 seconds which is great when you need heat fast. The Tourmaline-Ceramic plates left my hair very smooth and shiny. |
![]() | Remington is another top brand, and this time I tried their Remington Protect & Shine S2014 Professional Slim Straightener, which cost around $60. Again, they heated up to 230 degrees and used Tourmaline-Ceramic plates. They gave a nice finish, but I did not like the way they felt in my hands an they felt a bit cumbersome. But for the money, they represented good value and did the job. |
![]() | Vidal Sassoon were the last product I tried out. I went for the Vidal Sassoon VS107UK which cost only $65. You would expect a quality product from such a top brand name, and they did not disappoint. They reach a temperature of 230 in 6 stages so good control there. My only criticism was the cable length was shorter than the others meaning I had to get closer to the mirror when straightening my hair. Still very good value. |
